La Empresa Básica Socialista Recuperadora de Materias Primas, C. A. (REMAPCA) tendrá por objeto la recuperación, procesamiento y comercialización en el mercado interno venezolano, de todo tipo de materias primas reciclables, en los sectores domésticos, comercial e industrial, así como efectuar estudios, proyectos y programas de asistencia técnica para las pequeñas y medianas industrias.
Anibal Pernia, Gerente de relaciones Institucionales de REMPACA manifestó que la empresa esta en su fase pre-operativa y en la primera etapa del Proyecto (2008-2010), se comercializará fundamentalmente chatarra ferrosa y metálica no ferrosa (chatarra de aluminio, zinc, cobre, latón y otras); para posteriormente incorporar otros materiales reciclables como plástico y sus derivados, vidrio, pulpa y papel, cartón, madera y otros
La Misión de REMAPCA es Asegurar el suministro de materias primas secundarias al sector transformador nacional, mediante la adquisición, recuperación y comercialización de los materiales reciclables generados sobre todo por los entes y empresas públicas, promoviendo el incremento de la calidad de vida y bienestar de la comunidad y su área de influencia, en armonía con el medio ambiente, aportando al país un valioso ahorro de energía y la preservación de las reservas de mineral ferroso y otros.
Pernia señalo que esta Empresa de Producción Social, fue estratégicamente conformada con presencia nacional, para el aprovechamiento sustentable de materias primas secundarias, con el objeto de garantizar el desarrollo endógeno, con el mayor índice sostenido de beneficios sociales para la comunidad, enmarcados en un concepto amplio de seguridad: vivienda, transporte, educación, salud y recreación.
