Consumir agua de forma eficiente es mucho más fácil de lo que imaginas. Siguiendo algunos consejos puedes ahorrar una enorme cantidad de agua.
• Cierra los grifos siempre que no los uses. Utiliza siempre el sentido común y no desperdicies ni una gota de agua.
• Cierra el grifo mientras friegas los platos y enseres de cocina. Abre el grifo para enjaguarlos.
• Cierra el grifo mientras te enjabones las manos, el cuerpo, o al afeitarte, y cuando te laves los dientes. Supone un ahorro de 30 litros por ducha.
• Cuando te laves los dientes, utiliza un vaso. Esto implica un ahorro de unos 20 litros por cada vez.
• Saca los alimentos del descongelador con suficiente tiempo, no los descongeles poniéndolos en agua.
• El agua utilizada para hervir vegetales y huevos, se puede aprovechar para regar las plantas. Además le aportará nutrientes.
• Riega tus plantas y el jardín al anochecer o amanecer.
• Utiliza la lavadora con la carga completa y el programa adecuado, preferiblemente una sola vez a la semana, esto contribuye al ahorro de agua y de energía.
• El lavado de los automóviles es mejor realizarlo en un autolavado; o utilizar tobo y esponja si se lava a mano.
• No uses el inodoro como cubo de basura, coloca una papelera. Ahorrarás de 6 a 12 litros cada vez.
• Realiza mantenimientos y reparaciones periódicas para eliminar fugas en tuberías o grifos.
• Notifica a los organismos competentes las pérdidas o botes de agua.
